Is your website above the fold?

What does above the fold mean? Web sites don’t fold; you can’t fold them up and put them in your pocket, so why do you keep hearing the term “Above the fold”?

Above the fold means the section of the web site that can see with out scrolling down. This is important because it is a well know fact many web site surfers don’t always scroll down to the bottom of the page, therefore if your most important content isn’t “Above the fold” it may not be getting seen.

Therefore always place your most important content at the top of your page, or “Above the fold”.
