What did people search for in 2005?

A lot of useful information can be gained from understanding what people search for, what type of products are in demand, what type of news are people actively seeking etc.

Google have produced a list of the most searched for things in 2005, it is well worth a look. For example the most searched for news item was “Janet Jackson”, which beat “Hurican Katrina” surprisingly!

You can use this information to design websites of popular interest, for example identify a particular subject that is searched for and produce a site based on this theme. That way you know there is an audience for the website. Because what is the point of building a site if nobody sees it?
